FIBER products, announces a new product offering for dual-band UHF applications. RF in-building coverage extension systems for UHF applications oftentimes require support for more than one service organization. And in many cases, the repeater frequencies used by these organizations reside in different frequency bands. For years in-building RF system designers have battled the interlaced frequency dilemma in the UHF band. The traditional Bi-directional Amplifier (BDA) solution to this dilemma usually required a customized system with large, costly filters; which are necessary for maintaining isolation and system stability. Now, with the introduction of Fiber-Span's new dual-band fiber optic repeater, system designers have an elegant, low cost, easy to implement alternative for extending dual-band UHF frequencies into RF coverage deficient areas.



Fiber-Span currently offers dual-band UHF fiber optic repeaters that operate in the 450-512 MHz band. These fiber optic repeaters, also referred to as fiber-fed BDAs, are part of the FS3100 Series family of products and are available with RF power options from ˝ watt to 20 watts.

The FS3100 Series of Fiber Optic Repeaters can be equipped with short, medium, or long range lasers, depending on the application's fiber optic cable distance and path losses. All models have an optional remote alarm monitoring feature that can communicate fault conditions over TCP/IP, dialup, or optically over the same fiber cable that the RF signals use.
