Fiber-Span, in partnership with Metropolitan Communications, has successfully implemented an 800 MHz Public Safety in-building coverage extension system in the new Chester County Justice Center located in West Chester, PA. This 7 story, 375,000 square feet, state-of-the-art Justice Center will house the Court of Common Pleas and all court related departments.

The in-building coverage extension system uses Fiber-Span’s RF-on-Fiber® technology to provide reliable two-way radio communications over a fiber optic distributed antenna system. The system architecture consists of a headend off-air Bi-directional Amplifier system feeding multiple fiber optic Remote Repeater Units (RRU) strategically placed throughout the facility. Each RRU bi-directionally amplifies, filters, and provides the RF-to-Optical conversion needed to rebroadcast signals throughout the building.

This 800 MHz coverage extension system delivers the required reliability to maintain critical communications for Public Safety officials whose job it is to protect the Court Justices and all who enter the Justice Center.
